Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of celebrated film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Sharing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he finally felt able to share openly about his deep grief.

"Sufficient time has passed that I can now articulate my loss into words," posted Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner made him fall in love. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor shared archival material from the production, commenting that he doesn't recollect "one day without laughter".

"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the ideal person to helm it," Elwes expressed.

He additionally honored Michele Reiner, noting: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Colleague and Comrade

In a different tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he first met in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with everyone, and he grasped the human predicament of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the LAPD.

A legal directive put a embargo on the files to restrict the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" connected to the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a record citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Aftermath and Reactions

In the wake of the killings, public figures shared different reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making divisive statements that were met with immediate backlash by many individuals.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his perspective to the detractors recently. Conversing on his program, Rogan described the remarks as "shocking" and suggested they revealed a troubling deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser could have acted when the decision to weigh in on the tragedy was made.
