Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by book publisher.

The author

Best-selling young adult author and comedian David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, the company has said.

A representative for the firm said: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into reports of questionable actions directed at women.

The firm did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on private personnel issues."

A Highly Successful Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

He has published more than 40 books combined, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
