Close to Ninety Air Travels Associated to Jeffrey Epstein Reportedly Arrived at or Departed from UK Airports
A review has found that close to 90 flights connected to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein reportedly landed at and took off from British airports, with some allegedly having onboard women from the UK who allege they were abused by the convicted sex offender.
Flight Logs Reveal Trail of Movement
The flight logs were part of a trove of court documents and files released by the estate of Jeffrey Epstein that have been disclosed over the past year. The analysis found 87 aircraft movements connected to Epstein – encompassing many that were not previously known – arriving or departing from British airfields between the early 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and After Guilty Verdict Flights
Unidentified women were recorded among the individuals flying to and from the UK. Crucially, 15 of these British airport journeys happened subsequent to Epstein’s 2008 conviction for soliciting sex from a child.
“It was ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘comprehensive British inquiry’ into his operations in the country,” stated American attorneys acting for hundreds of Epstein victims.
British Victims and Court Cases
Testimony from one of the UK-based survivors helped convict Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell of sex trafficking of minors in the US in 2021. But, that survivor has not received any contact by police in the UK, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the the Met said they had “not received any additional evidence that would support reopening the investigation.” They noted, “If new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, encompassing any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will assess it.”
Ongoing Document Release and Legal Rulings
Proposed legislation to make public all files held by the American government in relation to Epstein passed the US Congress last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. A vast number of papers are anticipated to be released.
In a related development, a US judge ordered last week that the department could disclose investigative materials from a sex-trafficking case against Maxwell, Epstein’s close friend, who is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the charges.
